How you can support us and our ministry

A number of people have asked how they can help and support our ministry so I wanted to take a few minutes to explain all the ways you can help, but before I do I wanted to take just a moment to explain why your support is really an investment more than a gift.  

The Bible commands us to store up treasure in heaven and supporting our ministry in any way that God enables you to really is doing this. There is a return on your investment both ultimately and in our lives and the lives impacted by the ministry we'll be doing from now on.  Here's a quick example:  12 years ago a group of people decided to invest their prayers and resources in a young man with a vision to reach college students with the Gospel at Valdosta State University. As a result of his ministry I met Kerstin, learned how to study the Bible and share the Gospel and was connected with a church in Valdosta. As a result of these things I married Kerstin, became interested in Seminary and became interested in church planting and connected with a new church plant north of Atlanta.  These all led us to where we are now, having a child, finished with Seminary and going to minister in New England. So the church that will one day be planted or revitalized in Massachusetts and all the lives that will be impacted by it are part of the return on the investment made by a group of people in a 25 year old campus minister in Valdosta.

So back to the question: how can you support us? There are several ways.

• Pray for us!  This is the most important thing you can do.  Please consider committing to pray regularly for us, for our ministry, for 2nd Congregational Church and for New England.  If you want to pray for us regularly let us know.  Not only is it encouraging to know people are praying for us but we can also add you to our prayer request email list so that you'll know how to pray for us. You can also follow the blog here and our other blog to stay up to date on what's happening with us and with how your prayers are being answered.

• Invest Financially.  There are a couple ways that you can do this.  But I want to stress that every bit helps and that we don't consider any support insignificant.
• You can give monthly for 2 years directly to the church.  This is different than how many of us are accustomed to supporting missions but is actually very effective because it allows someone without much disposable income to make a huge impact over time.  For example, $25 might seem like a small amount to give but over 2 years that becomes $600.  In fact, it would only take about 100 different people giving $25 per month to completely cover our needs! (These gifts are also tax deductable and anything you send to the church will go 100% to supporting us.)
• You can give a one-time amount to the church. (Again, these gifts are also tax deductable and anything you send to the church will go 100% to supporting us.)
• You can give a one-time gift directly to us to help with expenses like moving and getting our cars ready to survive winter in New England. 

• Tell others about what we're doing! Talk to your friends, family or churches about our ministry. You may be surprised who is really excited about the Gospel spreading in New England. Don't hesitate to invite them to join our team praying for and supporting us. Feel free to give them our contact info or we'd be glad to get in touch with them.

• Come to one of our informational meetings. We'll be hosting a number of informational meetings in Charlotte and Atlanta. These are a great opportunity for you to come hear our vision, ask any questions you have and bring anybody who is interested along.  The first meeting will be Tuesday, March 23rd at 4:45 at Caribou Coffee in the Park Rd. Shopping Center in Charlotte.  There will be more coming and we'll be sure to post them here.

• Come to New England! So you want to be radical for he Gospel? Well you can come to New England with us. The church desperately needs mature, gospel centered Christians to come be a part of restoration there. Come on up and see if God's calling you to be one of those people!
